In Passing

2015, HD video, 10 minutes, silent.

Many Glimpses documents my backyard garden in early spring. Wind, sun, and time interact with the remnants of last year's foliage and the first signs of this year's growth.

The title refers to Marie Menken's Glimpse of the Garden. Unlike Menken's film, Many Glimpses is shaped as what Jim Tenney used to call an "ergodic" form; the pace is slow and unwavering, leaving you to chart your own path through the material.
